Continuing our theme this month of celebrating National Yoga Month, we are looking at Gentle Yoga this week. These classes will still give you a workout-you will feel the flexibility and openness of your body and breath-but the classes move at a slower pace. The poses are broken down to make them even more accessible. Gentle yoga is also vinyasa, meaning the poses are flowed one into the next, again, just more slowly.
Here at The Solebury Club our Gentle yoga classes are not strenuous and not intense. The poses may be approached in steps so that they are easier to do and so that you can remember how to do them. They are supportive and relaxing. And there may be fewer poses done in a class. Lots of props are used for support.
If you are limited in your movement or are extremely stiff ; if you are challenged in your coordination or strength; or if you are new to yoga, these classes may be for you.
